The Gion Festival is one of the largest festivals in Japan, where lantern lights from gigantic floats that line up the downtown area illuminate in a magical manner as the festive sound of bells echo throughout the streets during summer.
Autumn
Autumn in Kyoto, when leaves turn red and yellow, is perfect for visiting the city’s numerous shrines and temples.
Winter
Winters in Kyoto are fairly cold with the usual light snow and the occasional heavy snowfall.
